Hilton Worldwide recently announced the opening of a 194-room hotel – its first in Chad.  The Hilton N’djamena is located along the Chari River, in the upmarket Sabangali district of the capital city.  The Hilton N’djamena brings Hilton’s count of hotels on the continent to 37.  The hotel features 11 hotel suites, five bar and dining options, meeting and banqueting space for up to 500 persons, a 24-hour health club, and an outdoor pool.

N’djamena has seen some level of activity in its hotel supply recently.  The long-standing Le Meridien was rebranded to a Mercure (with 61 rooms), after the Starwood-owned brand pulled out in 2014.  The Mercure brand is owned by Accor, which also operates the dual-branded Novotel and Ibis (with 150 rooms and 102 rooms, respectively).  All three hotels are located in or around N’djamena’s city center. All three hotels are located in or around N’djamena’s city center.

Kempinski, a Geneva-based luxury hotel group, also operated a 177-room hotel in the capital city that opened in 2004. However, as of January 2016, this hotel is no longer branded or operated by Kempinski.

Carlson Rezidor announced a 175-room Radisson Blu N’djamena, also in the Sabangali district.  This hotel is expected to open mid 2016.
