The George Hotel, By Mantis – Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi

Mantis, a collection of privately owned boutique hotels and properties around the world, is adding Lagos to its portfolio.  The hotel company currently operates Villa Monticello, a highly-rated boutique hotel in Accra, Ghana.

Named ‘The George’, the 62-room hotel will be a significant addition to the supply of hotels in Lagos, particularly Ikoyi, which has seen a spate of high-end residential and commercial developments in recent times.

The construction was designed and managed by adeniyi coker consultants limited (accl), and was completed in 2014.  The George, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2015, is located on Lugard Avenue, off Kingsway Road, minutes away from many of the commercial developments underway.  This prime location should allow the hotel target the very top of the primarily business/corporate demand market.

The hotel was built on land with an area of approximately 9,000sqm.  Its 62 rooms will offer standard and luxury rooms, as well as studio and penthouse suites. Other facilities include: a fine dining restaurant, meetings and conference rooms (with capacity for up to 75 persons), business centre, fitness centre and a swimming pool area.
