American International School (AIS) recently sold its educational facility in Twin Lakes Estate along the Lekki-Epe Expressway to James Hope College. The educational facility currently includes a property covering 11,000 sqm on a 145,000 sqm plot of land. AIS initially built the property to an advanced carcass level, with the intention to expand beyond their existing campus in 1004 Estate, Victoria Island but subsequently placed the project on hold. Now that the property has been sold to James Hope, their plan is to complete it and open by September 2020.
Broll Property Services Nigeria, one of Africa’s leading commercial property services company, advised AIS on the disposal of this asset. Commenting on the transaction, Babafenwa Omoniyi, Head of Commercial & Industrial Broking, Broll Nigeria said:
“We are proud to have played a key role in the real estate advisory for the AISL on the successful disposal of her Lekki Campus. I believe that its great news for the AISL, the developers of Twin Lakes Estate and residents”
Twin Lakes Estate is a mixed-use site and service development sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited Pension Fund. It was built by Julius Berger Plc. and designed by FMA Architects. The estate has two artificial lakes, residentially zoned areas with plans for a large scale hospital and an Actis sponsored retail project called Twin Lakes Mall, which is currently on hold.
AIS consolidated their growth plans and are optimizing their 1004 campus. They recently acquired land beside their current school for conversion into a car park and also completed a 7-floor housing development for their staff.
James Hope College is a senior secondary school that was founded by Jim Ovia and after he acquired the Old Computer College, Agbor in Delta State.
