08 September, Lagos: We are excited to announce that Estate Intel got accepted into the Google Black Founders Fund. This was announced by Google on Tuesday 6th September, 2022.

The funding includes up to  $100K in equity-free cash, as well as up to an additional $200K in Google Cloud Credits, and access to the best of Google – people, products, and practices. We believe this program is set to accelerate our journey in the prop tech industry towards achieving our goal of making real estate data in Africa transparent. This comes 8 months after we raised $500k in venture capital funding in a pre-seed round led by MetaProp.

According to Google: “If we want technology to work for everyone, it needs to be built by everyone. Black founders in Africa disproportionately lack access to the networks and capital needed to grow their businesses. In 2020, with less than 0.5% of global venture capital (VC) funding going to Black-led startups, Google announced the Black Founders Fund and has since deployed $20M in funding to founders across the US, Europe, Africa, and Brazil”.

The Estate Intel platform provides information on historic rental and sale price and vacancy data for thousands of properties on the continent to help investors & advisors make sense of Africa’s opaque real estate market.

Recently, we have been working on improving our market analysis dashboards, and have added new sectors to the dashboards. These sectors include: short-let, data centers, Industrial/logistics, student housing, and co-working spaces. With these new additions, we believe our users will be able to understand the market performance and in turn make more informed decisions.

To gain access to our market dashboards, request a demo here. This will give you access to market data such as; sales rates, yields, supply drivers, and information on key real estate market participants who are active in the market.

The company has also recently put a new product extension called Vesper in public beta. Vesper is an automated real estate advisor that uses data to help the average African invest in property through quick property value estimates and accurate data to guide personal property investment.

We can’t wait to bring you more news of what projects we will be carrying out moving forward.
