In December 2013, the Hospitality Division of Kunech Investments signed a franchise agreement for their new hotel project on the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The project, called the Ramada Plaza Business Hotel is expected to be a 4 Star hotel with 170+ rooms ranging from Superior to Presidential Suite as well as 9 innovative, international food, drink and entertainment venues. Based on the stage of construction, it is expected that the hotel will be completed by year end 2015.
The Ramada Hotel brand is part of the Wyndham Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest hotel companies with approximately 7,670 hotels and 667,000 rooms worldwide. The group initially entered the African market via Abuja in February 2010 by opening the Hawthorn Suites. However, as of September last year, their existing portfolio in Africa included five hotels and 819 rooms operated via franchise agreements under the Ramada and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham® brands across Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia.
