Billed to be the tallest building by year 2020 rising above Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, “The Tower” is expected to redefine the United Arab Emirate’s (UAE) existing skyline while setting a new global reference point for similar ambitious projects.
It was designed to anchor the Dubai Creek Harbour, a 6 sq. km ‘advanced digital lifestyle-themed’ project, which is one of the largest master-planned developments in the world and will be completed through a joint venture between Emaar Properties and Dubai Holdings. Statements published by the group did not give an indication of the height. It will be located 10 minutes away from the Dubai International Airport, which will serve as a magnet for tourists and visitors in the future.
Providing stunning 360 degrees view of the city and beyond, the Tower strengthens the UAE’s reputation for innovation in architecture, engineering and construction.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, chairman of Dubai Holdings said:
“The Tower is one of the outcomes of the strategic partnership between Dubai Holdings and Emaar Properties which is closely followed HH Sheikh Mohammed. It reflects the vision of his highness to further strengthen the tourism sector, diversify our economy and reinforce the sound economic stature of the UAE globally. The Tower is part of a smart city development, providing a new and distinguished lifestyle, and will be completed by 2020 along with a number of strategic and pioneering projects that are being undertaken here, setting global benchmarks.”
The tower at Dubai Creek Harbour supports the goals of Dubai Plan 2021 to establish the city as a global business and leisure hub, and will add real economic value by driving the growth of the core sectors of tourism, hospitality, aviation and retail among others. That said, all eyes are on Dubai for at least the next 4 years as we await the realisation of this marvellous development.
