Speaking at the Q1 2016 Town Hall Meeting in Ikorodu, Governor Ambode announced that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the construction of the 4th Mainland Bridge will be perfected before May 29 2016.

He went on to explain:

“Many investors have shown interest in the actualization of our dream for the 4th Mainland Bridge which will run from Ajah to Ikorodu to Isawo and berth at Ojodu, Ikeja back to the Ibadan expressway. By the grace of God, we will sign an MoU and commence action before May 29”.

The Governor explained that he was keen on ensuring that greater attention be paid to Ikorodu moving forward, to put it at par with other developed parts of the State.

The 4th Mainland Bridge, which has been a long awaited infrastructural project will run from Ajah to Ikorodu. See the map* below.

It will help alleviate the traffic seen within Central Lagos and also support the growth of Eastern Lagos (Lekki, Ajah, Ibeju and beyond) into a commercial hub. To this end, he also noted that his vision was to make the Lagos East Senatorial District economically viable.
