Nairobi as a business hub, has historically attracted numerous investments from both local and international investors and business firms. The Big 4 global consulting firms in this case have also not been left behind with the majority being concentrated in Westlands (Deloitte, KPMG, and PwC), and one in Upperhill (EY). Westlands and Upperhill are popular affluent mixed use development zones in Nairobi, with majority of grade A office developments concentrated in them. Notably, the developments occupied by the big 4 in these areas are all grade A buildings. Some of the key factors that contribute to preference in these areas include:
- Close proximity to the City centre,
- Concentration of government offices and international organizations which enhance faster access to services.
- Direct access to and from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport via the Expressway.
- Ample and quality amenities and infrastructure in the areas.
- Well secured.
- High concentration of quality developments (commercial office, retail, hospitality, and residential).
- High concentration of middle and high net worth individuals (natives and expatriates) willing to pay for the premium services.
