Dakkada Tower (21 Story Office Development)

Christened as a “Smart Building” by the Akwa Ibom State Government in 2018, this 21-storey office development is located in the Central Business District of Uyo in Akwa-Ibom State. It is situated in one of Nigeria’s oil-producing states, the development site has a land area of 48,200 square meters and a total build area of 18,639 square meters. The gross lettable area is yet to be confirmed.

Construction works on the development commenced in Q2:2017 and was completed in 2020. It was developed by the Akwa Ibom State Government, who appointed VKS Construction Limited as the main contractors. 

The 21-storey development is 108.8 meters high, 5.8 meters taller than Famfa Oil Tower that is currently under construction. Making it the tallest building in the south-south region of Nigeria upon completion. The ground floor designed to harbor banks and cafe/restaurants with a floor to ceiling height of 7 meters, the 2nd to 20th floor will offer office space that, according to the governor, will be leased out to international oil companies and world-class corporate organizations. The 21st floor serves as a terrace which will offer the occupants a great landscape view of the city of Uyo.

The amenities and features of this building include 500 parking bays, 4 elevators, access control systems, humidity and temperature sensors, central cooling system, fire electric pumps, technical rooms E30 cabling for S90 fire, boom barrier for cars and a mechanical floor that controls sewage and takes care of waste disposal.
