Qwetu Hurlingham is a 15-floor student accommodation development located on Valley Road, Hurlingham in the Upper Hill area of Nairobi, Kenya. It will be situated 500m from Daystar University Nairobi Campus and 1km from the University of Nairobi School of Dental Sciences. The property will also serve the University of Nairobi Medical School, Kenya Methodist University CBD campus, and Mount Kenya University CBD campus students in the Hurlingham area.

Construction is expected to commence in Q3: 2020, slated for completion in Q3:2021 and will be opened in Q4:2021. The main contractor of this project is Zhejiang Chengjiang Construction, who were also the main contractors of the Global Trade Center, Nairobi.

Qwetu Hurlingham, upon completion, will be the 5th Qwetu brand student accommodation built by Arcon Holdings Limited and will offer 664-bed spaces, bringing the total number of bed spaces offered by the Qwetu brand to 2,994-bed spaces. Amenities include access control, gym, and social lounges.

According to Kenya’s Ministry of Education, available student housing in Kenya stands at 300,000 against a university enrollment of 520,900 as at 2018, excluding technical colleges. Leaving a massive student housing deficit of 42.41%. This indicates a supply gap and an opportunity for property developers to explore.
