The agreement with the two parties will involve the conversion of two hotels and one hotel under construction, which are all scheduled to open in 2020.

The 3 properties are:

The Radisson Hotel Group currently has 89 hotels and over 17,000 rooms in Africa in operation or under development, this new signing keeps it on track to reach 130 hotels and over 23,000 rooms in Africa by 2022.

Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “This three-deal signing further cements our position and reflects our commitment to the continent. Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world and has a critical role to play for the region.”

Feride Hassanaly, co-CEO of Talys Madagascar Group, said: “This partnership and portfolio of hotels fit perfectly with the development vision of our group. We believe that the opening of these three hotels will have a positive long-term impact on Madagascar’s tourism industry.”

These hotels are all located in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital city and a hub in Francophone Africa, and they are expected to promote tourism in the region resulting from its proximity to the International Airport, multiple retail outlets and tourist spots. They also follow the trend seen in the Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio by situating its hotels in capital cities and in economically vibrant areas, as seen in Lusaka, Zambia and in Kigali, Rwanda.
