Summary

"Generally, in 2018, Ghana’s financial soundness indicators improved despite the existence of pockets of weaknesses. The county’s economic growth has remained firm and is envisioned to remain steady in the medium-term. Additionally, the 2019 Budget Statement seeks to provide some fiscal impulse to boost economic expansion, especially in the non-oil sector, which is viewed as being optimistic for the country’s growth prospects. However, the risk of uncertainty still remains with regards to the impact of global developments, with higher fuel prices and exchange rate depreciation evident."
