Tenwek Hospital (Cardiothoracic & Emergency Center) is a health development located on Bomet-Tenwek-Silibwet Road, Bomet, in Kenya. The facility is being developed by Tenwek Hospital Organization, the medical ministry of the Africa Gospel Church in collaboration with the World Gospel Mission.
The Cardiothoracic & Emergency Centre is a subsidiary of the Tenwek Hospital Campus also located in Bomet. The surgical center, when completed, will provide 176 beds in the four floor development. The ground and first floors are planned to have examination rooms, a pharmacy, a laboratory, a blood bank, Computed Tomography (CT) and X-Ray machines. On the second floor, it will have an endoscopy suite that has four theatres, with a 16-bed recovery room, a training center and classrooms, a conference hall, offices, and a heart surgery suite.
The third floor of the building is planned to have six cardiothoracic theaters, a hybrid theater, a preoperative holding area, and a 32-bed post-anesthesia care center, while the fourth floor will house general wards accommodating up to 80 patients beds.
The architects of this project is Triad Architects which are also based in Kenya.
