Alpha 1 or ‘Afren Tower’ is one of the flagship real estate developments on the $6 billion Eko Atlantic project in Lagos. The property is 12,100sqm and sits in the exclusive Marina District of the Eko Atlantic, alongside other projects such as the Azuri Peninsula.
It was designed by James Cubitt and is being constructed by Chagoury owned ITB Nigeria Limited, the same contractors behind Heritage Place and Kingsway Tower in Ikoyi. The tower was developed by a private investor with the intention of having Afren as the key occupier. However, since the oil price fall last year, Afren has been under immense pressure and it is highly unlikely that the arrangement will move forward. We are unable to confirm if the developers have found new occupiers.
The tower is 15 floors high and is largely complete.
