- Name: Festival Mall
- Location: Festac, Beside the Golden Tulip Hotel:
- Developer: UPDC
- Anchor Tenant: Shoprite and Silverbird Cinemas
- Size: 11,000sq.m
- Completion Date: Mid 2015
Festival Mall is the retail component of UPDC’s mixed use development in the heart of Festac. It includes the existing Golden Tulip Hotel, 150 1 & 2 bed apartments at the proposed ‘Residences’ development, 5,820sq.m of office space and the Festival Mall, which is set for completion next year.
The mall was conceptualized in 2008 to service the demand for modern retail space in the the outer regions of Lagos like Festac, Mile 2, Orile and more. It will be nearly 11,000sq.m, which is about half the size of the Ikeja City Mall in Ikeja, Lagos. Tenants will include the other typical domestic and international retailers found in mall across Nigeria as well as Silverbird Cinemas and Shoprite as anchor tenants.
This region has largely been out of sync with the rest of Lagos in terms off commercial activity, and poor access/infrastructure have not helped. However, with the redevelopment of the Lagos Badagry Expressway, the new light rail transport system and developments such as this, the region should begin to experience increased development interest and activity.
