The Art Hotel is a 46-room luxury boutique hotel located in Oniru by Dreamspaces Development. The new hotel will offer 5 Duke standard rooms (45.5sqm), 6 Prince deluxe suites (64sqm) and 5 Emperor suites (84sqm). Other amenities include a Sky Pool, Sky Cocktail Bar/Cafe, Restaurant and Lounge, Urban Spa and Gym and a Social & Art Lounge Gallery. An interest in low-tech and passive sustainable solutions has been expressed by the developers and it is expected that they will be incorporated in the hotel’s design.
The project is another addition to Dreamspaces Development’s portfolio of real estate projects in Lagos, some of which include Bloomsbury Tower in Victoria Island and The Knightsbridge Residences in Ikoyi. The principal funding partner for this $15m project is Purple Capital Partners, a specialist investment firm with other real estate investments including Maryland Mall.
Currently, the most notable properties on Yesuf Abiodun Oniru Way, where this new hotel will be located, are Fourpoints Hotel and City of David Church. However, there are plans for a new mixed use development called Trinity Towers by City of David Church, a 25 floor mixed use tower by Kunoch, Cornerstone HQ, One Zero Five Place and a few others still in early planning stages. Access from Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue and Ligali Ayorinde Road will need to be considerably redeveloped to be able to sustain developments of this capacity.
Last year it was reported that the project would be completed by Q4:2016, however activity on site has significantly reduced.
