Article Summary: The Lagos State Government, under Governor Ambode, has commissioned a flyover bridge at the Abule-Egba Junction to ease traffic congestion. The 1.3km dual carriageway bridge was completed on time and features a signalised intersection with Oko-Oba link roads. It marks one of several rehabilitation projects in the area.
Governor Ambode of Lagos State has commissioned the Abule-Egba Flyover bridge in a bid to ease the high-density traffic at the Abule-Egba Junction. Speaking at the commission event, Ambode explained that the motive behind the bridge was to open up other areas of the State, while noting that the rehabilitation of inner roads within Abule-Egba had also been approved.
In December 2015, the Lagos State Government approved the construction of flyover bridges at the Ajah roundabout and at the Abule-Egba junction with a 16 month construction timeline. Both bridges were completed in a relatively timely manner and were christened ‘Jubilee Bridges’ to commemorate the Lagos at 50 celebration.
The 1.3km dual carriageway flyover was built with reinforced concrete and also has a signalised intersection under it to service Oko-Oba and other link roads within the area. See the images below more.
