Article Summary: The Rezidor Hotel Group has launched its 5th Park Inn by Radisson hotel in Rwanda, marking a significant expansion into East Africa. The 4-star hotel in Kiyovu offers modern rooms and amenities at competitive rates, starting from USD $112 per night, catering to the mid-market segment.
The Rezidor Hotel Group debuted its Park Inn by Radisson in Kigali, Rwanda late last month, marking their 5th hotel in the East African region. The group’s African & Indian Ocean portfolio now stands at 36 hotels and 16,600+ rooms in operation and under development. The new 4-star hotel is located specifically in Kiyovu, a largely residential region that is popular with expats, and offers 161 modern rooms with restaurants, swimming pool, bar and other basic amenities. It is located 12km away from the international airport and is in close proximity with the city centre, Presidential Palace and more.
The Park Inn by Radisson was created to be a midscale brand to cater to the mid market and rates at the hotel start from USD $112, much lower than the $240 on offer at the Radisson Blu (also in Kigali), which opened a year ago.
Commenting on the new hotel, Marc Descrozaille, Area Vice President, Africa & Indian Ocean, The Rezidor Hotel Group explained:
“We are very pleased to continue the momentum in growing the brand’s African footprint and delighted to open our second Park Inn by Radisson hotel in East Africa this year, following the recent opening of Park Inn by Radisson Nairobi Westlands. We are excited about the positive feedback received from owners and customers on the Park Inn by Radisson brand in Africa, and look forward to growing our presence in the mid-scale hotel segment across Africa.”
