La Definition is a proposed mixed-use development comprising 3 towers located in the Kuramo Waterfront District of the budding Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos. Notable completed and ongoing developments situated in Eko Atlantic City include Azuri Peninsula, A & A Tower and Alpha 1 Towers.
The project broke ground in Q2:2020 and It is being developed by Total E&P Nigeria Staff Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited. The main contractor of this project is ITB Nigeria who was also the main contractor of Kuramo Beach Residences, Heritage Place & Kings Tower.
According to MEP Consultants of the project, Chapman BDSP, La Definition will feature a water recycling system that will reduce demand for borehole water by up to 80% through the use of rainwater and greywater due to the limited availability of grid infrastructure in Lagos.
Chapman BDSP will also develop an energy centre that is based on the gasification of sustainable waste streams to produce very clean synthesis gas that will generate electricity and heat for the development with zero CO2 emissions.
With these energy and water-saving techniques, the developers will be looking to achieve parameters for an EDGE certification introduced by the International Finance Corporation (IFC)/World Bank. Heritage Place and Cornerstone Tower are examples of buildings in Nigeria with an EDGE certification.
