Cassava Technologies Commits to R4.5 Billion Investment in South Africa

Cassava Technologies, a renowned communications solutions provider, has recently announced its commitment to investing R4.5 Billion into South Africa. This would be done through the expansion of activities carried out by the companies’ different business units including; Liquid Intelligent Technologies, African Data Centers, and Distributed Power Africa. 

This investment by Cassava Technologies is expected to positively impact the South African economic market in terms of providing renewable energy solutions, cloud, and cyber security solutions, as well as, increasing the data center facilities.

Cassava Technologies is a Pan-African Technology Group that provides digital services and infrastructures. 

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business under Cassava Technologies, is a leading provider of pan-African digital infrastructure with an extensive fibre broadband network covering over 100,000 km. It also provides cloud and cyber security solutions. 

African Data Centers is a leading data center provider, with up to 5 data centers in different parts of Africa. 

Lastly, Distributed Power Africa is a pan-African renewable energy/solar energy provider, with operations in Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. 

 

Looking closely at Africa Data Center’s penetration in South Africa, the data center provider recently announced the groundbreaking of another data center in Cape Town

This will increase its existing portfolio of data centers in South Africa to four in number. Apart from the recent groundbreaking,  these include:

  • JHB 1 Midrand
  • JHB 2 Samrand
  • CPT 1 in CapeTown
