The recent wave of tech investment in the Nigerian scene has led to the introduction of some of the top tech companies in the world setting up offices in Nigeria, specifically Lagos. In the past year, we’ve witnessed Meta (previously Facebook), Google, and most recently, Amazon establish their presence in Africa’s “startup capital” by leasing office spaces and hiring local talent.

Estate Intel is currently tracking over 5,000 projects across Africa. Based on this data, we have ranked the top 5 developments currently being occupied by tech companies in Lagos, Nigeria. These buildings are mostly located in Ikoyi and Victoria Island, two sub-markets with burgeoning office sectors within the state.

 

1. Kings Tower – Occupiers include Microsoft, Meta , Flutterwave
Known as one of the most aesthetic developments in Lagos, Kings Tower is a Grade A mixed-use building located in Alfred Rewane Way. The building was completed in January 2019 by a project team consisting of Sky View Tower as the Developer and ITB Nigeria as the Main Contractor. Kings Tower is one of the most prestigious office locations as it currently boasts of a clientele that includes a few of the top tech companies in Nigeria including Microsoft, Meta, and Flutterwave.

 

2. Number One – Occupiers include Amazon
Number One is an office development located in Victoria Island, Lagos. The building, formerly named IMB Plaza, was completed in June 2021 by a team consisting of Green Eagle Realty as the property developer and Craneburg Construction as the Main Contractor. The building has a list of clients that include Broll Property Services, Access Bank, Kaly Restaurant, and Amazon as at November 2022

 

3. Heritage Place – Occupiers include Oracle, Google

Heritage Place, located in Ikoyi, is a one-of-its-kind Grade A office development that houses Oracle Corporation. The 14-storey building was developed as a joint venture by Actis and Primrose Development Company  in a bid to fill a gap in the office market for a quality space of that grade. Tagged as the first LEED-certified green building in Nigeria, the development’s features are expected to reduce energy consumption by 30-40%.

 

4. Churchgate Tower II – Occupiers include  IBM

Churchgate Tower II is one of a pair of towers of the same name developed by Churchgate. The 16-floor B+ office development features a gross lettable area of 3,002sqm with a project team that includes DTV Company Limited as the Main Contractor and Ove Arup and Partners Nigeria as the Project Manager. The office has played host to top clients over the years and currently houses IBM Corporation.
